THE FAITH-LED LIFE
Nurturing Faith in Waiting: Trusting God's Promises, Finding Hope, and Growing in Joyful Obedience. Join Us on the Journey
Hi friend,
How was service today? I had a moment of redefinition, it was refreshing, and I can't wait to share what I've learned with you.
After a brief break, I'm back with more Bible stories. The break allowed me to work on some self-improvement projects and prepare amazing content for all my esteemed readers.
A big thank you to everyone who reached out to inquire about the newsletter's absence. It warmed my heart to know that some of you were eagerly anticipating our Sunday gifts.
Now, let's dive into this week's edition!
The Waiting Season
We wait on God in the same manner for many things that we need in life. We wait for admission into tertiary institutions, provision, creative and innovative ideas, excellent examination results, good job, fruitful marriage, the list never ends because we see Him as a father who can provide everything we need.
Even when what you asked for hasn’t materialised, don’t stop dreaming about it. I believe that God hears me (John 11:42). This is how believers should speak. There are times when it seems like God’s not speaking, those periods are called the waiting seasons. God makes us wait for many reasons, sometimes to help us build capacity, to teach us patience. This is just an encouragement brother and sister that God never forgets us.
The Gift of Faith
Faith is a virtue that we must build during our waiting seasons. Faith is the gift of sight which helps us to see light. The gift of faith is very precious as it helps us cave out our path to eternity. The faith-life is believers living in the consciousness of God as their father. It is interesting to know that our relationship with God is similar to the relationship we have with our earthly parents. When we begin to relate to God as our father, everything else falls into place. We get the manual which is the purpose for our being from the one who created us. Life becomes worth living as we have assurance that God is with us. The journey of faith is from lifetime to eternity.
The Bible’s definition of faith still holds true, it is found in the book of Hebrews 11:1 which states that “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
The christian faith is so unique in that we believe even before we see. The Bible is my best friend. Through its teachings, I got to know more about God. Faith helped me to depend more on God, and also reduced my anxiety as I learn to lean on God.
Faith in The Time of Waiting
Faith grows. Whenever we are faced with trials, it is an opportunity to grow. From the Bible example of father Abraham, we can see how he waited for twenty-five years before the fulfilment of the promise. In those twenty five years, he kept on believing and trusting God. This is what we should do in our waiting seasons.
It is a period to look up to God. When it seems like all hope is lost, look up to the one who restores hope for only him makes a way in the wilderness.
It is a period to look back to God’s faithfulness. Recount what He has done so far, be grateful for how far he brought us
Psalms 118 is one of my favourite psalms, it shows how the people of Israel appreciate God’s faithfulness and acknowledge that His mercies endures forever.
It is when we should look forward to His promise. The entire Israel had been waiting for the promised Messiah for years, they didn’t lose hope, they looked forward to the fulfilment of that promise. Noah, when he had not witnessed a downpour in his generation, built an ark in obedience, acting in accordance with the faith he had in God.
Hebrews 10:23- Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
We should also look unto His path. When we’re waiting, we should be obedient, joyful, full of faith.
Psalms 119: 71-72 - My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees. Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.
Thanks
