Purpose God's Way
Discover purpose through divine guidance. Cultivate a friendship with the Holy Spirit, following His scriptural wisdom. With His guidance, find the right time and place, and obey His voice.
When we talk about purpose, it means different things to different individuals. I like seeing it like the manufacturer’s guide for an appliance. Remember when you bought your new appliance, like earbuds, phones, or calculators, you had to read the user’s guide so as to understand how best to use the gadget? The same is true of our lives; there’s a laid-out path to take on this pilgrimage that we must recognize if we are to fully make our creator happy. The matter of purpose is something that can keep a man in confusion for years if not discovered earlier. This is why this channel was created for young believers who are on the journey of discovering their purpose-filled sojourn.
Likened to the manufacturer, God is our creator, and he is the guide to all life. This guide he has given us freely in the Bible. There’s a need to fully depend on Him, even when the divine guidance seems foolish, or it seems hard to do, or even looks as though God is taking us through a long journey. We must still submit to his will.
Knowing your assignment determines your success in life. To live for one purpose is to become outstanding. The purpose one is to live for is embedded in God’s divine plan; there is a need for one to always go back to God at every stage for divine guidance. But how does God guide or lead His children?
Word
The word of God is the principal guide to destiny for all of His children. In Psalms 119:105, it says
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Here, the psalmist recognizes the word of God as a light to navigate this dark world. On this pilgrimage, there will be pits, disappointment, failure, and all sorts of different ills. What the light does is show us so that we are prepared for whatever is coming.
The Bible is our ultimate guide and should be our first consultation on any matter. It should be our tool to test any guidance we receive. It secures our scriptural guidance in the journey of life.
All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Holy Spirit
My precious gift from God is what I call Him. The Holy Spirit is a friend, a counselor, a comforter, a teacher, my prayer partner, and many more.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13)
Anyone who seeks true guidance from God must seek true friendship with the Holy Spirit. God communicated with us through His Spirit. Even when we feel insecure, we have a promise from Jesus
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we know the right time to make certain decisions. We know the place to be at any given time. To access the high place of the earth, you must be able to hear His voice and obey His instructions as commanded.
Hey friend, the journey to fulfilling purpose is a long one, and we must be patient to do all that God requires of us. We should not forget to take on the virtues of obedience and humility as we journey.
And it shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: (Deut 28:1)
As we navigate the path to purpose, let's persist in seeking God and fostering our friendship with the Holy Spirit. In moments of uncertainty, remember the promise in John 14:26. Stay steadfast, embracing obedience and humility, as we journey together towards fulfillment. Until next week, continue to listen for His voice and diligently observe His commandments, trusting that the Lord will set us on high above all nations (Deut 28:1).
Keep the faith, stay committed, and may the Holy Spirit be your constant guide. Blessings on your week ahead.
