Hello, amazing Purpose-Driven community!
I trust this message finds you well and filled with the joy of the moment.
Another Sunday has graced us, and I hope you had a blessed time in worship and reflection.
Week one in Medical School
I couldn't wait to share the incredible moments from my first week in medical school! Stepping into an environment filled with passionate individuals in their lab coats has been nothing short of amazing. From engaging lectures to meeting students with a shared vision for addressing global health issues, the experience has been both inspiring and uplifting.
Making a Difference with Millennium Fellowship
Being part of the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2023 has added an extra layer of fulfillment to my journey. We went into the streets of Mushin, conducting free health tests including blood sugar level tests, body mass index (BMI) checks, and blood pressure checks, embracing our commitment to social change. The camaraderie among fellow medical students and the impact we made left an indelible mark on my heart.
PS: “Camaraderie” is the feeling of friendship and teamwork when you’re with people who support and enjoy being around each other.
Lessons from a Timeless Parable
This week, as I delved into my Bible, the Holy Spirit guided me to reflect on the timeless parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. The wisdom of preparation echoed in my heart. Just as in our pursuits, we must equip ourselves with the tools for spiritual resilience, building a foundation that withstands life's challenges.
Think of it as a wake-up call, encouraging us to gear up with the tools of spiritual readiness. It's not just a symbol; it's about finding a balance and making sure our prayer life is consistent with how we read His word. In the busyness of our daily lives, it's simple to overlook this balance. Yet, it's these small things that can impact our strength as Christians.
Our spiritual weapons, akin to the extra oil in the parable, are crucial for maintaining resilience and authority against the challenges we face. Whether it's cultivating a habit of regular prayer, seeking spiritual guidance, or building a deeper connection with our faith community, these practices fortify us against the adversities of life.
Verse ten of this parable struck a chord in my heart: "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut." This whispered a profound truth to me—it emphasized that those who seize the best opportunities are those who have diligently prepared for them. Being ready, both spiritually and in our daily lives, opens doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Success Equation
Opportunity + Preparation= Success
Reflecting on this, I couldn't help but see a connection to our everyday lives. It's like comparing the lessons from the parable to the chances we get in life. Success, as I see it, is the beautiful result of combining opportunity with thorough preparation. Remember, always envision and script how you want the end of each day to look like. Sooner than late you’d be able to plan for months, years and even decades.
The Power of Watching and Praying
The Bible encourages us to watch and pray during our waiting periods. Let's be vigilant, ready, and prepared for whatever comes our way. It's about staying awake and embracing the right opportunities that knock on our doors.
Closing Thoughts
Remember, there is so much more within you waiting to be discovered and shared with the world!
