A Princess in His Love: A Personal Tale of God's Transformative Spirit
Gain profound insights into the essence of love as the primary fruit of the Spirit, guiding us to live a life illuminated by divine love. Navigating the path of the Spirit's fruit.
Every night as I lay in bed, memories of a bygone era flood my thoughts. I was once a carefree girl, navigating life's twists and turns with unbridled joy. Then, there was someone—an individual much older than me—who embraced me as a daughter, creating a bond that transformed my world. In his presence, I felt like a princess, as if I had stepped into a fairy tale overnight.
Now, take a guess—whom do you think this mysterious person was? 😂
For me, the love of my life is none other than Jesus.
Embarking on a journey exploring the facets of love, I want to dive into the concept of love as a Fruit of the Spirit. It's more than just an expression of emotions; it's a divine quality that God, our heavenly Father, imparts to us.
Love as a Fruit of the Spirit
Love is not an expression of emotions. God is love, and we, as his children, must also show love to everyone around us. To become a son or daughter of God, we must be born again. After we are born again, we receive the Holy Spirit, as Christ has promised us:
John 15:26- But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
It is with the help of the Holy Spirit that we are able to live a loving life.
When we talk about love as Christians, we find out that it is one of the fruits of the Spirit; in fact, it is the first.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23)
Fruits of the Spirit are manifestations of His works in our lives. As we grow in grace, we begin to experience some changes in our hearts, and we begin to see things in God’s way.
Even Jesus Christ commanded us to love as He has loved.
John 13:34- A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
How do we love God’s way?
Love is an expression that we show to people around us. We show how we love God by the way we treat people around us
1 John 3:17: But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
It’s not essential that you give people money to show them you love them; just that word of encouragement and that smile on your face can do some tweaking. Sometimes, people just want to see that you care about them, not just by the words you speak but by your actions.
1 John 3:16: Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
We can only do these things with the help of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26- But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The Holy Spirit can prompt one to do something for another person in an act of love. We show love by obeying that instruction. Love is not bias; we should speak the truth in love at all times (Eph 4:15). Praying and forgiving those who offend you like Jesus did on the cross is a way to show love (Luke 23:34).
